According to the official IRNA, Iran‘s supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, accepted the proposal of the President of the Judiciary, Gulam Hussein Muhsin Ejei, for Amnesty and a reduction of sentence due to the 44th anniversary of the revolution. Unlike the previous large-scale amnesties, defendants who are on trial for the first time will also benefit from amnesty and reduced sentences.
