Alienware has introduced the first screen with a 500Hz refresh rate.
During CES 2023 in Las Vegas, Alienware presented the first gaming screen with a 500Hz refresh rate. Dell’s gaming division outperforms its competitors.
Alienware, the brand dedicated to Dell’s top-of-the-line gaming products, has presented a monitor with a maximum refresh rate of 500Hz. It is the first monitor with such a high refresh rate ever, a milestone to date unmatched by any other product.
Clearly this is a test of strength, considering that probably the advantages compared to other monitors with high frequencies but still more ‘human’ are probably almost imperceptible for the average user.
Nevertheless, it is a product that redefines the standards in the sector. It is likely that we will see many more products with such a high refresh rate over the next few years.
The Alienware AW2524H uses a fast IPS panel with a gray-to-gray response time of 0.5ms. It natively supports 480Hz, which however rises to 500Hz with overlock. To take advantage of the higher refresh rate you need to use a DisplayPort. This 24.5-inch gaming screen obviously supports Nvidia Reflex Latency Analyzer technology, designed precisely to reduce latency to the lowest possible values, improving gaming performance.
The Alienware AW2524H offers very high color fidelity, with 99% sRGB color coverage and VESA DisplayHDR 400. It will be released in the US in late March and then in the rest of the world.
