Alan Wake 2 is Remedy’s biggest project yet. This was underlined by the director Sam Lake during an interview with the microphones of GamesRadar +. Lake says he never intended to leave Alan Wake behind.

There has always been the intention of returning to that story because there was still so much more to tell and its characters were too precious to be forgotten. According to reports from Lake, the story of Alan Wake 2 has grown and evolved over the years, also thanks to the publication of other projects such as Control  ‘s  AWE DLC which gave birth to a crossover with the series.

When you continue to keep a dream alive and continue to dream about it, you also make a constant effort to keep it active and exhilarating – says Lake – If nothing else, during all these years, the dream of Alan Wake 2 has grown and become more ambitious and more particular.

It’s our biggest project to date and a lot of different things have to fit together: not only in terms of the concept of the game itself, but also in the timing and choosing the right partners.”

We recall that Sam Lake recently suggested on his social profiles that Alan Wake 2 will arrive no later than 2023. In the coming months we will certainly be able to learn more about the project and maybe finally see it in action.

Announced with a trailer at The Game Awards 2021,  Alan Wake 2  will be the first survival horror of Remedy and will see the return of the actor Ilkka Villi in the role of the protagonist. Considering that Remedy intends to explore the horror genre, the atmospheres of this title will be much darker and more distressing than those of the first episode.

Alan Wake 2 will be available later this year on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
